"Envy" 8x8 Watercolor, graphite, colored pencil, cutouts of sketches by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres from "The Drawings of Ingres (Master Draughtsman Series)" by Stephen Longstreet. The woman in black and white is the subject of all the spectators' envy and jealousy, which is why she has a melancholy look on her face. The background also reminded me of bruised skin, which signifies the damage and pain that jealousy, envy, and other harsh feelings can produce for the envied as well as the envious.
